Why does photo documentation matter on a plumbing job?

Most plumbing repairs happen underground, inside a wall, or under a slab, which means the finished work disappears from view within a day or two. A photo taken before we backfill a trench or close up a wall is often the only record that the repair was done and done correctly, which matters at resale, during a warranty claim, or if a question comes up years later.

What kind of work typically gets photographed?

Sewer line excavations, trenchless repair sections, repipe runs behind drywall, and water heater installations are the jobs most worth documenting, because they get covered or buried once we are done. A camera inspection recording of a drain or sewer line is its own form of documentation, showing the condition of the pipe before and after cleaning or repair.

  • Sewer excavation and trenchless repair sections
  • Repipe runs before drywall goes back up
  • Water heater and gas line installations

How do I get photos or footage from my own job?

Ask your technician before the job starts, and again before we close anything up. We do not keep a public photo library of past customer homes on this site out of respect for their privacy, so this page is here to explain the practice rather than show a gallery of jobs that were never posted with permission.
